Houston, Texas: Sharon Birkman, CEO of the industry’s leading personality and behavioral assessment company, Birkman International, won the award for “Family Business CEOs to Watch 2021.” The award recognizes family and non-family chief executives whose exceptional leadership has put their business in a strong position for future generations.
“Throughout their lives, my parents had worked hard to develop my dad’s assessment. Their goal was to help people understand themselves and others more appreciatively. Harnessing the power of social perception, Birkman has improved working relationships across the globe. For seven decades, The Birkman Method has empowered teams, leaders, and career paths in organizations of all sizes and industries,” said Sharon.
Sharon became the chairman and CEO of Birkman in 2002, but prior to that, she left no stone unturned to take the company to its current stature. She has taken up countless roles in the success of Birkman, some including the vice president of corporate relations, career coaching, and many more. She holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Texas in Austin and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s OPM (Owner/President Management) program. Since being a part of the Birkman family, Sharon has kept Dr. Roger Birkman’s legacy alive and taken it to new heights.
“What I have been able to accomplish is because of the work my parents, their team members, and the Birkman family has put in,” said Sharon. “Birkman turns 70 this year, and without Dr. Birkman’s insight and the hard work of its people, we wouldn’t have grown so much in this decade.”
